Sažetak
The manner, speed and directions of changes in modern society affect the systems of education, and it is precisely through education that we express what kind of society and what kind of human being we want. Globalization, information technology, migration trends, global networking, standardization, internationalization are just some of the terms that mark the time we live in. Changes in the system of education raise demands for change in the system of teacher education, but also in the culture of teacher education. The value crisis is evident in all spheres of life, including education. Value education is one of possible solutions, and it is precisely the teachers who carry out these changes. By joining the European Union, we have committed ourselves to respect the values of the European Union, namely respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and respect for human rights. From the system of education, students are expected to develop dominant social values. The paper presents the results of the analysis of the objectives of Study Programmes of Class Teacher Studies in the Republic of Croatia and compares them with foreign study programmes regarding intercultural globalization contents. The issue of quality of education for the future is directly linked with teacher training, which constitutes an important part of reforms of education.
