Using the terminology devised by a cultural Geographer, Kenneth Foote: sanctification, obliteration, designation, rectification, this work analyses the practices of designating historicaL personae and events while clasifying monuments and alike modes of marking the past. It too thematizes the struggle between rememberance and oblivion--the discussion about meanings of memory.
