Sažetak
Prosperity and growth of all organisations depends upon the quality of its management and work force. Achieving business strategies in the light of the critical success factors such as innovation, human resources management and quality depends largely on the capability of managers who should meet organisational particular demands. Therefore, investment into the management development should be considered an investment by means of which the organisation ensures its survival and development. The business has to decide what sort of managers it needs to achieve its strategic goals and how it can best obtain and develop these managers. Human resources and management development must be business led even though it will be concerned with the development of individual performance and potential. In the work the author try to define human resources and management development strategy and essential development activities. By research results (on the sample of business school students) it is possible to see how students understand management function and how they see management development in the context of organisational success.
