Sažetak
In the present study the hematological parameters of clinically healthy donkeys were investigated. To the best of our knowledge, no data regarding hematological values in Hercegovinian donkey have been provided to date. For this reason, the aim of the present study was to investigate normal values of some hematological parameters on 30 donkeys (18 female and 12 male) of ages from 1 to 20 years. Nine hematological parameters, were analysed. Tree parameters fell outside and two parameters overlapped considerably with published reference ranges for other donkey breed. Obtained results could be useful in clinical practice and may be helpful to veterinarinans. Further studies are essential to determine reference normal values of clinically important hematological and serum biochemical profile of Hercegovinian donkey. This work in contribution to the study of hematological parameters of Hercegovinian donkey and we expect these data to be applied to the further studies.
