Sažetak
By excavation of opening in the rock, a stress concentration around the opening occurs. The aim of the paper is to determine the dimension of the Finite Element Method (FEM) model for the stress and strain analysis around an opening in rock massif. An elliptical opening is chosen, because the elliptical shape is better approximation to the real form of the underground rooms cross-section. The state of stresses and strains for an elliptical opening is analyzed, by theory of elasticity and by FEM ANALYSIS. Numerical calculation have been performed for both cases for given boundary conditions: with forces and separately with displacements. Comparasion of the results calculated from the theory of elasticity and the results computed by the FEM is presented. The influence of the boundary condition given by forces and displacements is analyzed. Boundary conditions given by displacements are resulting with better approximation in the state of stress and strains.
