Sažetak
The lecture engages with Alan Goldman's views about equality of opportunity, i.e. with his positon that whereever there is a job or position that requires certain skill and has an impact on many other people, we ought to require that the job should be alocated after it is offered to anyone interested under equal conditions and on the basis of qualification. My position, mainly borrowed from J.J. Thomson, is that such a procedure is required only when jobs and positions are offered within publicly owned institutions and not when the insititutions are private.
