Sažetak
We think that values are inevitable in the construct of psychopathy, so we reject the naturalistic proposals that try to offer a value free analysis of such a construct. To shape our defence of the idea that value ladenness of psychopathy does not make the construct questionable, we take issue with an Aristotelian proposal that attempts to ground, in general, the notion of mental illness on values. We maintain that this solution is not satisfactory, because it is related to a controversial doctrine of human flourishing that is not publicly justifiable. We will thus offer some indications of how we should frame the debate on public values. Specifically, we advance some hypotheses on how the illness status of psychopathy should be established on the light of these values.
