Sažetak
We turn to art for is its ability to surprise us and reward our aesthetic interests. For the most part, it is in light of its originality that art does so. Originality is among the most valued aesthetic and artistic properties and we tend to be very unforgiving when it comes to evaluating and appreciating art works and performance pieces that fall short of delivering novelty or rewarding interest by presenting something new and yet unseen. It is therefore all the more surprising that, exceptions aside, one of the most popular and widely appreciated art form today offers little in terms of novelty, and even less in terms of originality. I am talking about genre fiction.
