Sažetak
The paper offers an overview and discusses the key issues of the use of renewable energy resources and the development of the energy legislation. It further highlights a continuing need for the harmonization of Croatian legislation with the obligations resulting from the legislative framework of the European Union relating to renewable energy and energy efficiency. In particular, it shows the significance and role of local and regional government bodies in the implementation of energy legislation. Finally, an evaluation is given on the comprehensive legal and political significance of the governing legal norms of renewable energy sources.
