Sažetak
Multilateration (MLaT) is a method of determining a position of a device, using time difference of arrival (TDoA), where a device must be in range of at least three receiving signal antennas. In introduction of this paper short background of multilateration is given and motivation for replacing GPS is presented. In following section short overview of positioning systems as a replacement of GPS is given. Algorithm of determining position using TDoA is described, with its computational errors and later usage of MLaT in LoRaWAN and NBIoT is presented, as they are popular choices in low power wide area networks. Discussed error and security threats are consistent in the entire field of LPWAN and present challenges when using MLaT in any network topologies. Therefore, systems of multiple positioning techniques are recommended for usage.
