Sažetak
A 3D audio reproduction system provides a way of reproducing the original sound localization possibilities towards the end user, without requiring the user to be located under the same acoustical environment as was the case in the recording. An array of loudspeakers is developed in this thesis to produce a system capable of providing such a reproduction. This is not the entire story, of course, as certain methods are used to improve the performance of traditional3D audio reproduction systems. As such, a positioning system is coupled to this loudspeaker array for the adaptation of the sweet spot towards the user, as to reach a higher robustness for the total system towards displacement by the listener. The system is designed to work on any modern laptop, and effort is taken to make the system as compact as possible without compromising the overall performance of the system. For this to work, first of all insight into 3D audio reproduction is needed, with which the concept of CTC is introduced. The negative sides of a stereo dipole are shown, and the step is made towards an array with a higher amount of speakers. The acoustical TFs are determined and a database is made based on this acoustical situation. And after all that, finally, one is able to achieve a 3D audio reproduction system through the implementation of the thesis software, and the performance of this particular situation is thoroughly tested.
