Sažetak
The monitoring over long distance by means of optical fibers represents a highly efficient way to perform leakage detection and activities along pipeli¬nes, in dams, dikes, tanks… Different techniques have been developed taking advantages of the fiber geometry and of optical time domain analysis for the localization of the information. The present paper presents and discusses the possibility to actively and automatically monitor leakages and activities of gas TSO (transmission system operator) company PLINACRO Ltd. by using distributed fiber optics sensing techniques at already installed SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system
