Sažetak
In the difficult war years many cultural monuments were exposed to risk: copper roofs were stripped off churches and other buildings, the bells were shattered and taken to the artillery factories, anything that contained copper and tin was removed from the houses. The museum staff soon became busy saving the objects of cultural value, which left no time for anything else.Viktor Hoffiller, curator in the Archaeological Museum, inspected over 3, 000 bells and wrote an inscription on 2, 000 of them.
