Sažetak
While working in karst areas speleologists often discover new caves with no natural entrances from the terrain surface - caverns. Caverns can represent problems for geologists and civil engineers for reasons such as: morphology, volume, hydrogeological features, lack of stability etc. In order to complete the high quality construction works as fast and as cheap as possible the collaboration between geologist-speleologist and geotechnician is mandatory. Speleological activity and understanding of speleogenesis and geology will provide the geotechnicians with the information essential for finding the adequate remediation solutions. Successful collaboration between geotechnicians and geologist-speleologists is known in many examples.
