Sažetak
Primary nervous system lymphomas (PNSL) are variants of extra nodal non-Hodgkin lymphomas which involve different structures of the nervous system. Most PNSL are diffuse large B-cell lymphomas and account for less than 5% of all nervous system malignancies. Diffuse large B cell lymphoma/ Burkitt like (DLBCL/BL) is a term assigned to aggressive B cell lymphoma with features intermediate between the diffuse large B cell lymphoma and the Burkitt like lymphoma. We report two cases of the nervous system DLBCL/BL lymphoma which were diagnosed in previously healthy women. Both patients initially complained on intensive lower back pain. The first patient rapidly progressed to the paraplegia and the second patient developed left foot paralysis. The rapid growth of the tumour was observed in both patients, with no restitution of neurological deficit after surgical intervention and initiated oncological treatment. Clinical presentation and findings indicated primary central nervous lymphoma in the first patient, and primary lymphoma of peripheral nerves in the second patient. Unfortunately, both patients died only few months after the occurrence of initial symptoms. Lower back pain is usually benign condition which in the most cases resolves without any consequences, but in certain cases it could be a presenting sign of the fatal disease, especially in situations when it is followed by the rapid development of the neurological deficit.
