Sažetak
In the Croatian tourist strategy the accent should be on selective forms of tourist supply by which it is possible to enrich tourist product, prolong the season and increase tourist income. In today’ s insufficiency of healthy environment, the loss of cultural heritage, future attractive destinations will be those areas which tourist concept is based on principles of sustainable development. According to those principles, and having in mind that basic Croatian comparative advantages are tourism and agriculture, rural tourism should have significant role in the Croatian tourist product. In Istria County – the most developed Croatian tourist region, there are 51 householdings that supply different kinds of rural tourist services. In the paper the authors analyse some structural indicators of those services and attempt to give directions for their improvement, trying to suggest service structure that can also be implemented in other tourist Croatian regions.
