Sažetak
The strategy encouraging distributed generation entails the increase of distributed energy resources in distribution networks. Their integration affects the distribution network concept as a passive network designed according to consumer loads with a unidirectional flow of energy from the transmission network to consumers. This paper discuses the influence of distributed energy resources on the network voltage since it is a fundamental constraint to increasing their share in the network. In fact, distributed generation causes the voltage increase at its connection point and in the surrounding network. Unlike conventional distribution networks, too high voltages are becoming an issue. Consequently, the voltage control requires improvements to allow the maximum increase in the number of distributed energy resources in the system but with no occurrences of unallowably high voltages. This requires installation of the information and communication systems that would enable a coordinated operation of all control resources. This type of control is called a coordinated voltage control and is detailed in this paper.
