Sažetak
The focus of this paper is the prevalence of foreign languages in the higher education curricula in Croatia as well as the analysis of studies published in Croatian scientific journals on the relationship between foreign languages and the study of tourism and hospitality industry curriculum. Taking into consideration that the turism is crucial for the development of Croatia, the foreign languages are supposed to be an important part of the education curricula. The study analyses Croatian scientific discourse on the topic of prevelence of the importance of foreign languages learning in correlation with the study of tourism and hospitality industry curricul. The second part of the study shows the prevalence of foreign languages in the curricula of the study of tourism and hospitality industry in Croatia. The preliminary results show the presence of foreign languages within the curricula, but also their inadequate presence in the Croatian academic publications.
