Sažetak
This is a brief summary of papers, by the principal author and various collaborators, concerning meat quality of Black Slavonian (BS) pigs maintained either on free range or housed, fed on high- or low protein diet, slaughtered at different body weights, and compared with Swedish Landrace. Physical-chemical and sensory evaluation of meat from the BS pigs, mostly significantly superior to the controls, provided encouraging results for marketing BS- branded pig meat on both the domestic and the export markets.
