Sažetak
In Croatia, at the location of Gradac-Vučedol was found the metallurgical workshop from the prehistorical time, for the first metal production in series, the oldest one in Europe up to now ( 3000-2200B.C ). Metallurgy was very prosperous then and it expanded from Vučedol over the great part of Europe. It is important to mention the developed metallurgy of the Celts and the Romans. In the Roman Age Sisak ( Siscia ) and its hinterland was one of the largest metallurgical centers of the whole Empire. After the fall of the Roman Empire metallurgy had been forgotten and it was revived at the end of the 10 th century, at the time of the Saxons` s arrival. It can be concluded that it was not possible to give the complete presentation of the historical development of metallurgy on the territory of today` s Croatia because this development was not systematically studied.
