Sažetak
Being considered as the prerequisite to other rights, the right to education enables people to be informed, knowledgeable, and aware of the variety of options they have before making decisions. People whose right to education is protected are more active, they better develop all kinds of their capacities and are more competent to contribute to the quality of their life as well as to the life of their community. Recognised as vital and relevant, right to education has systematically been included in numerous international and national documents. Because of the expansion of knowledge and information nowadays, and because of some misinterpretations of the right to education, the objectives of the workshop are: to analyse elements of the right to education and to compare its protection in various settings. In the workshop, right to education will be approached, among other, through Tomaševski’s (2005) 4A model of availability, accessibility, acceptability and adaptability. Interconnectedness among right to education, rights in education and rights through education will be tackled, as well as their achievements. All the elements can be discussed and analysed from students as well as teachers’ perspective, and various forms of teaching and learning, such as formal, non-formal and informal are taken into account.
