Sažetak
Marine environmental governance covers rules, instuons, processes, agreements, arrangements and acvies carried out to manage the use of the sea. The paper elaborates the stakeholders’ impact on the law of the sea regime, those under the auspices of the United Naons and the European Union, and those other specific regimes focused on marine environmental governance. The analysis is focused on good governance as the process whereby public instutions conduct public affairs, manage public resources and guarantee the realizaon of human rights with due regard to the rule of law. The result of the evaluaon is that many important impacts in the reality of marine protecon are disregarded such as increasing importance of cross-border private and subnaonal state cooperation. The author advocates for a more polycentric approach to be achieved by stakeholders in environmental law and policy within the law of the sea scheme for the benefit of the improved implementation of good governance in marine environment.
