The famous fortress is located above the town of Nauplia (Venetian: Napoli di Romania, Greek: Nafplio), on the Peloponnese peninsula. It is a building, or rather a complex of buildings, which has not ceased to interest and inspire both professionals and the general public in their belief that the fort is indeed an exceptional monument.
