Sažetak
Summary: Stroke is a state of emergency requiring immediate care in specialized units for stroke. In order to apply treatment it is necessary to determine the type (ischemic, hemarrhagic) of stroke, as well as its subtype, that rs the mechamsm of its' occurrence. Ultrasound methods are noninvasive procedures that with high certainty can determine the mechanism of stroke. The extracranial color Doppler (EGD). can determine the shape and type of atherosclerotic plaques and.the degree of vascular stenosis. ECD can also reveal.other inflammatory diseases of blood vessels, non-atherosclerotic vasculopathies and vascular dissections that can occur independently from any of the mentioned diseases. Transcianial Doppler (TD) can locate the site of an occlusive alteration, detect the redistribution of hemodynamics in extracranial occlusive changes, and monitor vascular rechanneling. ln hemorrhagic stroke, the development and treatment of vasospasm is followed-up, and the existence of vessel formations with bursting of vessels and hemorrhage in the intracerebral and subarachnoidal spaces is investigated. Software development has created the possibility of monitoring embolic signals and vasoreactivity testing. These are additional methods in estimating a patient with stroke. the development of ultrasound techniques has led to easier and noninvasive estimation of stroke patients.
