Sažetak
We have reported that the immunological tolerance to skin tromografs can be achived after short-time parabiosis of adult, homologous rat. The tolerance was closely related to "parabiotic disease", a consecuence of graff-versus-host reaction. It was mainly on the basis of these resalts that the concept of "competitice replacement" was advanced. In that concept of graft-versus-host (GvH) reaction was considere to be necessary for the prereguisite eatablishgement and maintenance of specific immunological tolerance to tissue graft. Commenting on the concept, both Medavar and Simonsen pointed aut a number of similar observations. Among those, successful induction of tolerance in inbred parential mice by F1 hibrids appeared to be the most significant one. Mostly refered to us "geneticaly tolerant", F1 hibrid talent, according to the concept of competitive replacement, shout not be able to produce any considerable degree of tolerance in parental recipients. It is well established, however, that F1 hibrid cells can induce specific immunological tolerance in parental host. The obvious question , therefore, seems to be: is GvH a reaction necessary prerequisite for the establishement of tolerance, as it is implied in the concept of competitive replacement. Amn answer to that question was sought in a detailed study of tolerance induced by F1 hibrid cells injected into newborn recipient parental strain moice. That study constituted the main part of author's thesis (Silobrčić, 1063) and will be briefly dsecribed in this article.
