Sažetak
Skin grafts from Ch57BL mice bearing methylcholanthrene-induced fibrosarcoma or Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) survived longer in normal A mice than the grafts of skin from healthy C57BL mice. Fibrosarcoma showed this effect only after it had enlarged to a diameter of about 9 mm, whereas EAC was effective 3 days after inoculation. Second-set grafts of skin from EAC bearers survived longer even in mice presensitized with normal skin. On the other hand, second-set grafts of normal skin were rejected as quickly in mice grafted first with EAC-or fibrosarcoma-bearer's skin as in mice grafted first with normal skin. Serum from C57BL mice bearing EAC afforded a longer survival to skin grafts from normal C57BL and CBA mice, if injected into recipients of the grafts. Prolonged survival of the skin transplants is ascribed to "protective" substance(s) produced in mice with EAC, viz. to hypoxia and anaemia of the skin present in the mice with fibrosarcoma.
