Sažetak
Sinus augmentation procedures have become a standard surgical technique to increase the height of the edentulous atrophied posterior area of the upper jaw. Numerous techniques have been used successfully, allowing a high survival rate of implants inserted after sinus floor elevation. This book, within six chapters, highlights the anatomical landmarks and decsribes , using clinical cases with photos and radiographs, the latest ultrasonic devices used for both techniques, lateral and crestal approaches, including their possible complications. The book is divided in 6 main chapters: general considerations of sinus augmentation, anatomical landmarks for preoperative evaluation, instruments and biomaterials, lateral approach technique, crestal approach technique, preoperative risk assesssment and postoperative care. Different surgical techniques, supported instruments and biomaterials are shown in more than 300 clinical photographs, radiographs and illustrations on the principle step-by-step presentation, which helps any practitioner in the fiels of dental implantology, and makes clinical work easier. Simple and severe clinical situations are explained and shown in details using combination of standard and modern tecniques of maxillary sinus floor elevation. Authors view of the sinus lift procedure is based on principles of successful implant-prosthetic rehabilitation in patients. This book should help the clinicians to make rational decisions for maxillary sinus floor elevation and augmentation with step-by-step clinical images, as well as to treat any complications that my occur during surgery. The book is extrememly accessible and up-to-date resource which will serve as a great clinical guidance in everyday treatment planning for dental implantology in the field of modern maxillary sinus surgery.
