Sažetak
The Medjame ponor is located in the hilly area of Samoborsko gorje in NW Croatia. Like similar features in its nicinity, it is charaterized by very interesting morphology (markedly fissurly cross-section of passages). It is originated in the Upper Triassic dolomite and it probably drainaged water from adjecent smallish karst plateau. Todaj it is dry and, for the most part, filled in by failing rocks. It is also interesting from a botanical point of view. During 1996. plants on different expositions and depths were recorded and collected. Besides other plat species, 9 species of ferns which cover most parts of the entrance were recorded. Difference in florical composition of the Medjame ponor and its surroundings is a result of different ecological conditions such as air temperature and humidity, illumination etc.
