Sažetak
At this day and age it is necessary to carefully plan and anticipate a desirable future, (Singh and Yadav, 2017). The focus on positive future orientation and a successful educational process enables young people to improve their professional and personal affirmation and lead to the decrease of problematic behaviour, (Chen and Vazsonyi, 2011). For those reasons, it is extremely important that the activities in university courses are focused on contemplating about the future, possible new roles, and future outcomes so that young people who are being educated are more prepared to deal with different future scenarios but also to be able to prepare more successfully future generations of students for similar scenarios. In that context, it is important to encourage students to use divergent thinking that, together with imagination, makes the starting point for the search of acceptable solutions to most of the upcoming challenges that they may face in the future. In that context, the question arises as to whether our university teaching is in line with the aforementioned global challenges. Research results show that, according to students' opinion, university teaching does not educate for the future (92 %)! Also, students of teacher studies predict negative social scenarios in the future (62%), and when it comes to the role of teachers in the future, they predict (89 %) that they will be replaced by holograms.
