Sažetak
The paper deals with relation between cutting force and band saw lateral stability.In order to point out the importance of the cutting velocity the paper presents research results of its influenceon the lateral movementof the band saw blade. As independet parameter thecutting speed have been chosen.References mention a wide range of optimum cuttin speed. The choise of the optimumcuttin speed will therefore providefor the higherefficiency of the band saw. For the purpose of the research described in this paper the strain force was measured by the approximatemethodof measurement.The cutting speed was variedby channging the rotation frequency of the electromotor. The measurement results were analyzed and graphically represented.
