Sažetak
In this entry, the term hearing impaired/impairment (HI) refers to any deviation from the range of hearing considered to be normal (NH) and also covers the terms hard of hearing and deaf. The entry focuses on language disorders caused only by HI and does not deal with conditions in which HI is explicitly excluded (e.g., specific language impairment) or is part of a syndrome or accompanied by other impairments (e.g., aphasias, Down syndrome).
