Sažetak
This paper is focused on parents, educators, academics and all those concerned with education in Croatia, and explores how some teachers increasingly use digital media (technology) and interactive practices in order to direct their students’ curiosity and ability and help them in their civic engagement, collaboration with their peers all over the world, and to encourage them to direct their own learning. Media education, with critical thinking techniques, creative communication as well as computer, visual and acoustic literacy in its core, is the key of the 21st century approach to learning. Students of the 21st century point out the real examples of how digital media transform educational environments. Philosophers and other scientists have been discussing the nature of media and technology for a very long period of time. The difference is challenging because the two terms are used interchangeably in everyday language and that is the topic discussed in the paper.
