Sažetak
Screening of Asphodel (Asphodelus microcarpus Salzm. et Viv.) honey is of great importance since melissopalynology does not allow the unambiguous determination of its floral origin. Botanical origin is mainly responsible for the characteristic flavour which contributes to the overall honey quality. Preliminary evauation of the sensory characteristic, as well as melissopalynology and methyl syringate analyses of the honey samples confirmed Asphodel floral origin. Methyl syringate has been investigated by HPLC-DAD and HPLC-MS/MS while volatile compounds of the honey samples have been investigated by GC and GC-MS applying headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) and ultrasonic solvent extraction (USE).
