Sažetak
Globally, considering the implications of society (technology, labor, capital) which have education as their primary starting point, schools as institutions increasingly recognize the importance of implementing identity in the image thus emphasizing competitiveness. The importance of the competitiveness in this paper is generated from the introduction of the Model of Creating School Image through Event Management. Its systematic implementation in schools will result in a reputation that is recognized both for its quality and successfulness. Clearly, it is a competitive step towards creating the concept of a successful school. Subsequently, this model refers to the importance of the conceptual development of image through the proactivity of the school as an institution, through events and attracting media attention in society. The paper will present the results of the survey conducted on 255 head-masters in the Republic of Croatia. They point out the differences in the level of success in building an image with regard to rural and urban environments in which the schools are located. This is also equivalent to the previous survey that points to insufficient knowledge of the head-masters in the field of management and public relations in the Republic of Croatia. The emergence of the Model of Creating School Image through Event Management creates synergy with more developed societies, and at the same time, recognizes the importance of competitiveness in the field of education as well as the promptness of the head-master who will contribute to the recognition of the school as an institution.
