Sažetak
Waste, which is the main driver of the new developmental concept, instead of being a resource is still a hot issue in Croatia. Cities and municipalities make decisions on providing public services for collection of mixed and biodegradable municipal waste. The EU sets more ambitious goals for its members whereas Croatia is far from achieving the goals it has committed while accessing the EU risking the penalties. The theme of this paper is sustainable waste management.
