Sažetak
Introduction: E-learning systems are very diverse and they are used for various purposes, e.g. in formal education, in self-education and in the corporate world as an effective tool for training and testing employees. In the develop- ment of advanced e-learning systems an emphasis is placed on system adaptivity. Adaptive e- learning systems can be broadly divided into two major types - Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) and Adaptive Educational Hypermedia Systems (AEHS). ITS systems are focused on the individual approach to each student as well as on the two-way tutor-student communication. AEHS systems are primarily concerned with customizing teaching content presentation. Adaptive e-learning systems can also combine and complement the techniques of ITS and AHS systems [1].
