Sažetak
The paper studies English loanwords in two Russian translations of J. D. Salinger’s novel The Catcher in the Rye, and takes language borrowing as a starting point to explore the influence of social and personal ideology on translation. The aim is to show the interrelation between the influences that translators, their socio-cultural context and the dominant translation norms exert on a given translation.
