Sažetak
Polyphenols as active component of plant materials relevant for maintaining balance in human organism, besides antioxidants, also possessed anticorrosive properties. Due to theirs capability of adsorption on metals and metal alloys, they occupied important place in investigations of anticorrosion activity. Therefore, in this work the polyphenols from rosemary leaves were isolated with aim to be subsequently evaluated as potential eco-friendly anticorrosion substances. The extraction of dried and milled rosemary leaves was performed by ultrasound assisted extraction, applying time of 3, 6, and 9 min, amplitude of 60, 80 and 100 % and 30 and 70 % (v/v) ethanol and acetone. For comparison purpose, the extraction by refluxing for 1.5 and 3 h was also applied. The obtained extracts were evaluated in terms of colour and total phenols and flavonoids, determined by Hunter colorimeter and UV/Vis spectrophotometry, respectively. Due to the fact that results indicated that the highest recovery of total phenols and flavonoids is obtained using 70 % ethanol and acetone, during 9 min of extraction, at 100 % amplitude, these extracts will be further utilised for examination of its anticorrosive properties.
