Sažetak
Cultural heritage is the legacy of every nation. Its pedagogical usefulness is unmistakable for both the methodological approach of integration and correlation of classes, as well as the involvement of students in active learning and research. The school is for students to develop awareness of the importance of cultural heritage and learning about the importance of traditional culture and to create their own social identity. The article presents the results of comparative studies in the fields of identification, preservation and presentation of cultural heritage of the Slovenian and Croatian the educational system. Under the existing curricula at the elementary level of basic education, we analyzed the representation of the cultural heritage, determined attitudes of teachers to teach these contents and assess ways of approaches to teaching content of the cultural heritage. The research results should contribute to the development of intercultural com'petence of teachers and the planning of joint activities on the theme of cultural heritage in order to know the habits, traditions and culture of other nations. Given the recommendations and proposals to reduce the gaps in the field of preservation and evaluation of cultural heritage in the Slovenian and Croatian primary institutions.
