Sažetak
There is an almost consensus in scientific community that the concept of design, including in OoL (Origin of first life) research, should be banned and left without hope to be ever consider as prospect for scientific legitimacy. This strong methodological claim is based on two underlying assumptions: (I) conviction that life arose as the product of unconscious and undirected physical and mechanical forces. (II) presumption that postulation of (I) has to be a default position which has to be treated as epistemologically prior when compared to possible alternatives. These assumptions are obvious (or sometime camouflaged) metaphysical statements which is not possible to scientifically refute. Author thinks that negation of the scientific legitimacy of design is based on the pre- theoretical definition of design, non- consistent relation towards the design concept and purely metaphysical assumptions. Because of that it is possible to find reasonable to remove privilege of default position that is given to metaphysical position (I) and to epistemological position (II), followed by right to reconsider the possible scientific legitimacy of design (in OoL).
