Sažetak
At the beginning of the third millennium, there was an increase in the number of terrorist acts in the world, which culminated in the famous tragedy of 9/11 in the USA. The violence spiral followed the uphill line after a series of bombings and other attacks in major cities throughout Europe, especially with the onset of a major migrant crisis in 2015. The war in Syria, armed conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq were a generator of a refugee wave, with new terrorist attacks. In response to terrorist acts and the elimination of their consequences, not only was the reaction of the states on the national plane, but also the international criminal-law cooperation between states and organizations at the regional and global level. The Western Balkans is a region on the route of migrant routes from the war zones to the developed countries of the EU, so the mutual cooperation of the states is an imperative of the survival and development of a modern society. The paper points to the mechanisms of criminal law cooperation of the state of the region in the fight against terrorism and provide some suggestions of de lege ferenda for the suppression of terrorism and migration.
