Sažetak
Phraseology is the study of the structure, meaning and use of phraseological units - lexicalized polylexemic word combinations with syntactic and semantic stability and idiomatic meaning. Those units form a large part of our everyday language and represent an interesting field of study that never stagnates and make language more complex and colourful. The thesis provides an overview of the existing phraseological approaches on phraseological units and their classification. It focuses on the occurrence of figurative language in phraseological units trying to show the great stylistic opulence behind them and strong cultural conditionality.
