Sažetak
Career maturity represents an individual’s ability to cope with career construction tasks during a particular period of life. Holland (1985) proposed that differentiation, consistency and elevation of vocational interests also reflect career maturity. The aim of this study is to investigate the relation between career maturity and three potential indicators derived from interest profiles. We assessed a sample of 568 adolescents in the final year of secondary school (age 17-18) with the Personal Globe Inventory, the Career Choice Clarity Scale, and the Student Career Construction Inventory. Our results indicate generally low and unsubstantial correlations between various measures of career maturity with differentiation, consistency and profile elevation. Career maturity is necessary for successful career construction and the results of this study suggest it is imperative to assess career maturity as a wholly separate construct in career counseling.
