Sažetak
The effect of mimosa tannin on the electrochemical behaviour of iron in borate buffer solution was studied using potentiodynamic and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. The results showed that mimosa tannin contributes to iron passivation by forming an insoluble chelating complex that precipitates onto the electrode surface, resulting in a decrease in the passive current density. The passive films formed in borate buffer with the presence of tannin were thinner and with smaller ionic conductivity then the films formed in pure borate buffer.
