Sažetak
Flora Croatica Database (FCD, http://hirc.botanic.hr/fcd/) is interactive, multiuser and web orientated database designed for collecting, storage, processing, assay and mapping of the diverse information on Croatian vascular flora. The database was developed with support of Ministry of Science, Education and Sport of the Republic of Croatia, and in addition upgraded inside the frame of the range of different national and international initiatives. Main modules are “Nomenclature and Taxonomy”, “Bibliography”, “Red Book Data”, “Economic Botany”, “Herbarium management”, “Field Observation”, “Map Server” and “Analist”. With financial support of the State Institute for Nature Protection during 2006, the first national project “Invasive Flora of the Croatia” was performed, resulting in standardization and criteria development on alien (allochthonous, non-native) plants issues, especially invasive ones. As a part of activities the new module “Allochthonous Plants” of FCD was developed. The main purposes of this module are continuous data tracking and data padding on nationally recognized allochthonous plants, with particular emphasis on invasive taxa. The Module makes possible multi criterion queries of taxa according to the standard segregation of allochthonous plants and generation of entirely taxon sheet reports in pdf format. The continuous work on flora mapping inside the wider FCD activities and development, automatically update the distribution maps of alien plants (i.e. data input from field observation, digitalization of herbarium collections, geo coding of the localities from literature, etc.) and other related data (i.e. first finding or introduction, prodromus building, nomenclature, synonyms, vernacular names, ecological indices, etc.). The module “Allochhtonous Plants” as a part of FCD is a platform for monitoring and reporting on alien plants of Croatia, separately invasive taxa and should serve as “backbone” for both national inter institutional and international cooperation.
