Sažetak
The aim of this study is to establish possible links between some socio-demographic factor and prosecution of criminal offences of child abuse. The study comprised offences registered in Zagreb area, the largest population area in Croatia. The analysis included all police reports to the Public Prosecutor, as well as proceedings related to those criminal charges. The observing period covered last three years. The dana were analysed with respect to a) characteristics of victims (age, gender, socio-economic status, kinship with victim, occupation). The paper also dicussed possible factors of differentiation between the nubmer of recorded criminal offences and the number of final court verdicts, and between the number of instituted criminal prosecutions and the number of final court verdicts.
