Sažetak
The research has been carried out in order to contribute to the knowledge of high-temperature reactions during the sintering of High Alumina Cement and the development of rapid setting and hardening cement materials. Properties of the HAC mortars and concrete depend on the mineral phases present , which in turn depends on the chemical composition and the production process. Commercial HAC contains CaO, Al2O3, SiO2 and Fe2O3, which accounts for more than 95% of chemical composition. Some characteristic compositions belonging to the binary system CaO-Al2O3, ternary system CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 and quaternary system CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-Fe2O3 were chosen. The chemical compositions were determined with the X-ray fluorescent spectroscopy (XRF) and qualitative and quantiative X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD)were performed on the same samples. Results of the XRD analyses were compared with the potential phase compostion calculated according to the quaternary system CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-Fe2O3. The presence of solid solutions and its influence on the quantiative phase composition have been discussed.
