Sažetak
The ninth ESEH biennial conference was held in Zagreb, Croatia from 28 June–2 July 2017, being one of the best attended ESEH conferences to date.The meeting hosted 444 participants from 42 countries around the world. Among the most represented countries were USA (76 participants), Germany(64) and UK (35), with at least ten participants each from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain and SwedenThe conference location in Croatia also gave special emphasis to the theme of ‘contact environments’. The contact theme was also discussed from rather different perspectives: from across disciplines, pointing to the importance and necessity of interdisciplinarity in environmental history research. The topic of migrations and displacements also represents crossing borders, multiple contacts, possible conflicts and many other issues.
