Sažetak
A paper prototype of an “intelligent” problem-oriented health information system was developed. The objective of the study was to define and specify a problem-oriented health information subsystem for management and planning needs having some "intelligent” characteristics. Such a subsystem should be in touch with other health information subsystems because it has the key position in the health information system where decisions are made. The description of the model for “intelligent" problem-oriented (IPO) health information subsystem is presented by the methodology called structured analysis and system specification. General data flow diagram containing six processes, five data files (data bases), twenty two types of data flows is presented. The input and output of the IFO subsystem is related to community system, primary health care system, secondary and tertiary health care, epidemiological and ecological subsystem, financial-technical and administrative subsystem and authority system. Two classes of software were envisaged, One which is represented by software for data analysis (standard statistical packages as well as meta-languages) and data base management, and the other which includes some elements of AI technics. The main characteristic of the system is that it is population-based, problem-oriented, place-specific, time-explicit and parsimonious. The IPO subsystem is under way for a small urban pilot area.
