Sažetak
Modification of the Gomberg-Bachmann-Hey reaction was shown to be the best way for simple and efficient large-scale metal-free synthesis of o-(5-Formyl-2-thienyl)benzonitrile and o-(5-formyl-2-furyl)benzonitrile starting from the respective diazonium salts 2- (methoxycarbonyl)benzenediazonium tetrafluoroborate in thiophene or furan as solvent and reagents. The transformation of the resulting intermediates to the target aldehydes was easily performed by using suitable reagents and reaction conditions.
